Touching down in Dubai again we had pretty much one thing on our mind...meeting the new addition to the Sly family, little Lexie Jean!
And she did not fail to impress, winning over her new god parents with her cute smiles and all round adorableness. Oh Lexie how cute you are! We only had a whirlwind 3 days to catch up with the Slys whilst they were preparing to say goodbye to life in Dubai, so what else could we do but help them party and farewell in style whilst still spending as much time with little Lex. The days flew by in a blur of baths and nappies (Lexie), champagne brunches - (Ren and Alli), beer brunches and kebabs (Johnny and Trev) and True Blood (everyone). In absolutely no time it was the crack of dawn and time to whiz off to the airport. Destination NYC.
The one, the only... Ms. Lexie J. Sly!!!

Touching down in NYC for christmas was an energising and exciting part of the travels. NYC is our favourite first world city and always an extravagant time. The week went by in a whirl of comedy and broadway shows, museums and art galleries, jazz and cocktails, coffee and... ben and jerry's. Christmas day was a highlight with a traditional turkey feast and a trippy Beatles show followed by a major, major blizzard. This was all in the spirit of christmas - yay snow.... until all flights and airports were closed including our flight to Costa Rica. After much drama, we went to the airport to try to plead with the airlines about our reschedued flight. The chaos continued - think Home Alone airport scene... but alas we were triumphant and would get to leave only one day later than planned. Hooray
Stand up time!
